Early Years School Readiness Project

 

The purpose of this group is to create a Taunton-wide agreement of what ‘School Ready' should look like and to work collaboratively to achieve a written agreement to be adopted across all school and pre-school units within the TLP.  

Using guidance from the Key findings of the OFSTED Report – 'Are You Ready – Good practice in School Readiness' the four key areas to work agreed as an initial focus are:

 

  1. Definition of School Readiness
  2. Engaging Parents and targeted support
  3. Increasing parental understanding of what is meant by school ready – providing information and guidance
  4. Addressing the 3 main areas of developmental delay - social and emotional development physical development and Speech Language and Communication skills.
